Hi ,
Since from last 1 week there is one background job which is running for long time and does not get finish . It's a MS job.
From Basis end i tried to analyze everything , wrk process log, system log , lock and oracle session using St04 . i am not able to get information as to what is happening with this job.
FYI : The sap program SAPLIPW1 is just going on running.
56192 SAPLIPW1 300 JOBBATCH
I had check DB01 , there is no lock . Only in SM12 the lock is there which is related to this process . Nothing else . If i delete the lock of SM12 this job will also get cancelled
I think i am making some sense in explaining u my problem
We are working on 4.6C and patch level is also appropriate. i search for the notes on OSS but nothing relevant to this.
Kindly help ... if any clue .. please let me know

Right i am trying to look after that jobs , trying to find some clue.

Which user has executed this job (have u checked out with him), is it being regularly scheduled to run or just this one time...SAPLIPW1 is an include..which must have been used in some program...Find the source program..

Did you check at sm50 if it spends lot of time in same table?... you can activate a trace too (st05) and check the sql with most time.
I had a problem like that, in sm50 the process was lot of time reading in table bsak, I checked bsak and was ok, I reviewed last update statistics and it ran ok, then I adjusted the indexes (all of them) of table bsak (se11 --- indexes --- utilities --- database utilities --- activate and adjust database) and it solved the problem.... but there is a problem, you can't do that if any user is accesing the table.

Still the job is running.
The user is JOBBATCH. This job ranned successfully on 23/09 7:45 , but started failing then onwards. means from 23/09 11:45 it failed.
It run after 4 hrs.
Moreover , this job is doing some activity because in the job log i am getting the IDOC number which has been process. I had check right now only.
Only thing not able to get the SQL text , in ST04 -> Oracle session
i checked Database performance Active Session but unable to get the SQL text . The status of the wrk process is INACTIVE.
There is no DB lock also.
Any idea , or suggestion ?
