Question:
Dear friends,
I want to know how can we print the barcode in Sapscripts. I have created a barcode font and I am using it in my sapscript as the character format. When I see the preview it shows something, Although not exact barcode but when I print it, the printout does not have any barcode.
The other software (non sap) is able to print the barcode from the same printer and user says, that this printer can print barcodes.
Please help. My email is n_nandrajog@rediffmail.com
Thanks
Navdeep
Answer:
First thing to check is the other software.
Does it print the bar codes as graphics, or does it make use of an installed bar code dimm in the printer.
If the other software prints the bar code as graphics then that printer will not print bar codes via sapscript which requires a bar code dimm to be installed in the printer (afaik).

Thanks, for ur reply.
I have created a format in se73 and I have tried to print from se73. It prints the bar code from se73.
Now in the sapscript I have created a character font and I have given barcode format as the same as tested by se73. It was successful try but only upto preview. In the preview it is showing the barcode but is not printing on... the same printer.
Rather it prints the number that has to be printed as barcode. I have also tried concatenaton *number*. but no use.
Preview is fine, but no printout. Please give suggestions.
Answer:
And did you check the method used by the software that does print bar codes ?

Answer:
Yes, I checked the software. It is VB and it prints the barcode not as a image. It prints them as characters.
I tried printing from SAP also, from se73 the same printer prints the number but when I use the same in my script it is showing some sort of barcode(not exact) in the preview but is not showing in the printout.
Thanks,
Navdeep.
Answer:
May be you need to use some third party software. Check TBarCode.dll.
Answer:
If your external program is printing as a barcode and is not using graphics you'll need to set SAP to use the same font as the external program.....
I would check the printer and make sure in it's spec that you can print barcodes and that the external program isn't just generating a graphic, as this how most of them work.
If it's a laser and you're using a font then you'll more than likely need a dimm card in it, as people have said previously.
