Question:
I have the following fields on the selection-screen.
1. delivery.
2. Plant.
3. Date.
In the above 3 fields i want the date field to be always today's date.and the ramaining delivery and plant can be chaged.
Here i have entered some values and saved it as a varient.. but when i select this varient the next day.. in the date field again i have to change the date field explicitly to todays date.
i want this date field to be always today's date.

When creating the variant, you need to assign 'Selection variable' attribute to the fieldname. Click on 'Selection variables' button, and choose dynamic date calculation and assign 'Current Date'.

but when i click on "selection variables" a message is coming like
"Parameters/selection criteria cannot accept variables".

You need to assign the selection-screen fieldname to field attribute = Selection variable .. it should be the fourth tick box from left for that fieldname ..

Or when you are saving the Variant set the Save field without Values (V4.7) in this case whatever default value you get from your Prog. is maintained.
(It may be without Val SPA/GPA in Older Versions)

woudl'nt it be easier to just default the date to SY-DATUM in Selection-Screen since you wanted today's date to always appear there?
