Question:
does anyone know the logic about the sap-password conversion.
sap-passwords are stored in tables like usr02, but converted.
anyone aware of the conversion logic?
thanx!
Answer:
Hi,
If you want to use the same method then you can use function DB_CRYPTO_PASSWORD to get the converted password which you can check with stored password. But I myself don't know the logic.

Answer:
If I do it with my password and the coded password I found in usr02, it gives me some weird data.
Then I searched for the table wicht is to keep the passwords according to the function: DBCON, but it contains no data either.
Any other suggestions?
Thanx in advance!!

Answer:
Why do you need access to people's passwords in SAP?
I can't think of a legitimate reason to need this......

Fair enough. Try all you like. SAP passwords are convertable in one direction only - to the encoded form.
The logic is contained in a C routine with no source or documentation which is appropriate.
And as Rosie says - I can't think of a legitmate reason to do this.
Rosie - can you lock this topic ?

Answer:
Right - topic locked under the forum rules (specifically a contravention of rule 9 which denies people the right to attack others).
If you wish to become a member of this forum being rude to one of the best qualified here (i.e. R) probably isn't a good way to do it.
