Hi Fans,
Can queries be transported along with the cube from DEV to PRD? version is 3.0(b). Or, after creating cubes, have them transported and recreate the quereis? We are very confused. Also, can a workbook be transported from DEV to TST. We are very new to BW.

I have been down this route before with my previous company. Queries can be transported but depending on what version of BW will depend on whether it transports correctly. We spent months trying to get them across the systems and even asked SAP for help. They logged on to the system and made some changes (after alot of negotiations) but we still had problems. One thing to remember if you do transport then you wont be able to make any changes to them in PRO, and there will be times when you want to either create them on a ad-hoc basis (which is what BW is all about) or make changes as and when.
If you do want to transport then go to RSA1.....transport connection....and select request Bex along the top... when ever you save or amend a query in the analyser after that it should attach to the transport you created.
Create queries in BWP its much easier and less painful in the long run. Plus unless you have a good amount of data in test or dev how can you test properly?.
