Question:
Our master data loads are taking way too long to process in BW. We have loads that hang for hours when trying to pull small amounts of data. I have a data load thats trying to pull 30 records from R3 (which should only take less then a minute to pull over) and is hanging for several hours. There is nothing going on in R3 when this load is occurring.
Please advise.

can you determine which part of the loads is taking a long time?
is it the job in R/3,
or processing the transfer rules
or...
check the detail tab in the monitor

Check idocs, R3 is not telling BW that his part of the process is finished.
If you do 'detailed analysis' in the infopackage monitor, you will see that BW never receive confirmation of the load, hence it ends only when the system reach the time out limit.

Hi ZMAN ,
Your problem can have 5 cause to delay your uploads .
1. Tablespace full ( see tcode db02 ) OR Contact basis .
2. Check your Idoc in source system (Tcode we02 ) & check that your
Idoc has "03" status if status is 53 it means r/3 has sent IDOC . ( for
get your idoc no you may need partner status & other details so
goto Tcode We20).
3. Run this program RBDAPP0 in source system & Try to push IDOC .
4. Try to check jobs in BW , if several jobs in queue , You need to put some jobs in background & prioritize those jobs which are taking too long time .
5. Check your Hierarchy (standard & Non standard both) structure .
