What is the differene between the Execute and Execute (debugging on)...
I have a task which if executed in debugging on mode works fine but does not work if simply "Execute" option is used.

This SAP Txn. used to test the workflow, now tell me whats your exact requirement so i can help you out.
when u have created the workflow template in wbuilder, then you can test it, you can pass the data in input push button, also if you want to check that whether any workflow has started ro not, u can check the log after that.
if your wf template is not working as expected you can diagnose it using txn. SWUD, suppply the WS and 8 digit name of your task
