Opinions here are welcome. I hope to be a techno-functional consultant for SAP Business Intelligence solutions in 3-5 years time. For the past few months I've decide to read how can I moved into SAP from my current profession.
I started learning Netweaver, SAP new offering. FYI there is a free chapter download available for chapter 1 and 3 of "SAP Netweaver for Dummies". Besides this I've also browsed forums, join sap business communites, download whatever i can and read on mySAP BI.
I have a few questions to experienced consultants. What does it really takes to be in this field. I've decided to be a consultant as I like this job nature (being bilingual, likes to travel, loves training, advise solutions..)
Hoping to land a job dealing with BI / BW, i'm now developing a custom reporting solution to fill the gap on the tool my company is using. On the backend i'm using SQL Server 2000. On the reporting front, I'm considering Brio (as they are colleagues already using in other department) Crystal Reports XI (obtained a trial version to learn) and SQL Reporting Services (Microsoft next big BI thing?). Any advice which is more related to SAP BW?
I hope to get practical advices from experienced SAP executives. If there is any one needed help on Systems Management Server or even Antivirus, I can help out.

Crystal reports comes with Release 3.0B of BW (you have to spend extra for the server etc., for Crystal reports)
