Key figure representation in in a chart

Question: Hi,

I have three key figures being Planned Cost, Actual Cost expressed in $ and Variance in %. When I use the chart in BEX as well as in the browzer, the % value does not get displayed. I think the Y axis represents $ and it cannot show both an absolute and a relative figure on the same Y axis. Is there any to overcome this so that all three key figures can be shown?

Thanks.

I thought I'd see if a guru answers first, but ....

I have an example but don't know how to upload it here, as it is on the BW server.

Hi SRV,

In my case the two key figures which are absolute ones are in the range of -500000 to 800000 whereas the relative key figure is 700 and the scales are automatically set from 0 to 100000. Because the relative kf is so small compared to others, I am not able to see this. Hence I introduced scaling factors for the abolute one to display them in '000s. After this, I am able to see all the kf. But, is there any other way?

Thanks.

Even with normal charts we use scaling factors or 2 Y-axes, so it's OK.

Answer:
I don't remember what they are called, maybe primary & some other, but one is on the left and the other is on the right. I use it for my BW utilization chart, with # users(Y1) and # of queries(Y2), by month on the X-axis.

Hi SRV,

I got your point on 2 axis. They are primary and secondary. I used the wizard to show four series and used stacked columns for type and used 2 axis for variance % and other for absolute kf. But in the end after saving the template when I execute, it still shows four different columns overlooking the 2 axis, color pattern, stacked column etc. What am I missing? We recently upgraded to 3.5. I do not know whether convert chart migration program is to be run. Any thoughts on this?
