I am trying to delete an uncessary infosource. Then, I am getting this message "InfoObject 0ACCT_TYPE of communication structure still being used". Please advise. We need to get this infosource deleted.

The easiest place to start is by doing a where-used on the object. You should be able to see all the InfoSources and Transfer rules still touched by that object.

Thanks for you inputs. I tried all of your options and I found that the InfoSource that I want to delete has still a communication structure. So, I tried to delete the communication structure. Then I am getting the following message. I am giving the long text version of this error message:
InfoObject 0ACCT_TYPE of communication structure still being used
Message no. RSAR741
Diagnosis
The deletion of the communication structure for InfoSource ZFIAP is not possible.
InfoObject 0ACCT_TYPE of the communication structure is still being used. This use must be undone first.
Concretely the communication structure of an InfoSource can only be deleted if there are no update rules for
InfoCubes and no transfer structures for source systems for this InfoSource.
System response
Activity was finished without database change.
Procedure
Check the use of your InfoSource ZFIAP in the transfer structures. Delete all existing transfer structures of your InfoSource ZFIAP.
(JIM: I do not find any transfer structures for ZFIAP)
Check the use of your InfoSource ZFIAP in update rules for InfoCubes. Delete all existing update rules for your InfoSource ZFIAP.
Afterwards, you can delete your communication structure for InfoSource ZFIAP.
(JIM: I do not find any update rules for InfoCubes/ODS based on the infosource ZFIAP)

Here are what I couldn't figure it out.
1).How to list all the existing transfer structures which use infosource e.g., ZFIAP?
2).How to list all the existing update rules which use InfoSource e.g., ZFIAP.
I do not find / do not know "Where Used" tool button for infosources. The version is 3.0(B), SP 6.

Jim,
We had the same problem in deleting the infosurce before upgrading the system to 3.0B.
The solution which i give is a bit weird,
but then u can delete it if you do a number of weird things in the system.
first try to delete the transfer rules, delete the comm structure, delete the source system assignment,then elete the infosource.
if it gives you the same error again,
do the sourcesystem assgmnt again and regenerate your transfer rules again and now try to delete the infosource itself without deleting the other things like comm structure etc.
That solved my problem.I could delete my infosource then..
As i said its a bit weird procedure.

Just delete the update rules and then you should be able to delete the infosource.
