Unable to create a query

Question: Hi All,

I have loaded 0PY_C02 cube and I checked the data contents and saw the icon 'Available for reporting' displayed in the Requests tab. I am not able to create a report in the BEX as the cube is not available in the info areas. Any idea? The same thing happens with 0PY_C01 also.

Thanks in advance.

Answer:
Click on the create icon (blank page) and then go to the InfoAreas. If it is a new cube, it will not show up in the InfoAreas, until a query is created against it.

Answer:
That is what I did. I cannot find the cube I activated in the infoareas.

Thanks.

Answer:
How is the security setup? If it is setup on the infoprovider level, then you might need to get your role updated.

Thanks,

Answer:
May be you are using open query instead of new/create....

If there is not already a query under it, the cube is not displayed when doing open.

It means that you may not have the authorization ( I presumed that you had sufficient authorization).

Yes. I do have authorization. Any ideas why it still does not display the infocube under infoareas?

Did you expand the InfoArea node in BEx? Perhaps you may try something, though it sounds foolish. There is a display setting in the Admin Workbench menu where you may like to turn 'Display all' on!!

Answer:
Well Folks,

The issue is resolved. The cube was assigned to a wrong info area in RSA1 and after rectification it was correctly assigned to the role in PFCG . Now I see the cube in BEX.

Thanks.

That means you had no authorization for the InfoArea where the cube originally resided.

In order to see authorization failures, you can set up an authorization trace. If you have an AWB session open, you can also check with SU53 (works for auth. errors in BEx too).
