A Small Challenge in Bex Queries

Question: Hello All BW Gurus,
I have a problem while creating the Bex Queries. It goes like this. There are 2 characteristics category and Product. One category contains multiple products. In the query I have to calculate the value for product and calculate MAPE over the Category.
So it should look like this,
Product 1 10
Product 2 20
Product 3 30
Category (30+20+10)/3 = 20

The trick here is that each category has a different number of products. Myself being a novice to the BW queries would need your help to solve this problem. Can somebody provide me with some good resource which'll help me with the problem.
With Regards,
Ankur

Answer:
Well, defining in the properties of the figures the Total beeing Average of all values seems to be the solution ....

HI!! Fred,
Thanks a lot for your help, this thing works. I have just one more query, I am displaying 4 key figures in my structure. I want to show the results for only one Key Figure. I have tried using the Supress Result option for the Key Figure but still I can see the balnk result columns for the key figures.

Ankur

Answer:
Just hide the remaining 3 keyfigures which you don't want to show.
Right click on the keyfigure --> Properties -->Display-->Hide drop down and select Always hide.

Answer:
Hi!!,
If I hide the key figures I would not be bale to see them in the strcture itself. I want to hide the Key Figures only in the Results column, In rest all columns their values should be shown normally.

Ankur

Answer:
Ankur,

I have no solution to hide the total of single key figures.

But alternatively, you could define the total row to show the average of the values instead of the sum (and hide/delete the category column).

Product 1 10
Product 2 20
Product 3 30
Total 20

Cheers
Frank
