(BEX) How to attribute a Workbook to a Role

Question: Hello,

first of all i have to say that my knowledge of roles and related stuff is limited to say the least. I have a SAP all profile and i created some queries that are attributed to the role of the guys that are using them.
Now they want a workbook with a graph in it and i created it for them. Right now it is located into my favourites. Thing is that i can't see their role in the "open woorkbook" menu so i cannot directly save the workbook under it. Is there anyway to save it under their role, without changing any authorization and stuff? Or do i have to create a new role/expand their existing one, in order to see the role in the menu and save the workbook inside?

thanks

Answer:
If they have rights to write into their role, just save the workbook as an excel file, give it to one of these people, who has to open it with BEx (using File/Open Excel function), and then "Save as new workbook".

Answer:
As an administrator it is a good idea to assign yourself all the BW roles that have menus associated with them so that you can simply copy links to workbooks by dragging them in the BEx Browser. The effect of this is like creating another shortcut to the document in the BDS, rather than copying the workbook -- you can see the hexadecimal id of the workbook in the properties of the shortcut. Another way to tackle this would be to send the user the id of the workbook to paste into an existing link (copied from another workbook).
