I am working on a large BW site not large by the number of developers like other sites large in terms of number of BW users and custom content implemented.
It is amazing these days to find one site where BW is being used developers invest lot of time and effort and build a system and there are no users but this site was using BW well. About 3 months ago they decided to buy Business objects suite including data integrator which to extract data from SAP into a SQL Server / Analysis Services server and report using BO/Crystal. What could not be done in BW HR content for months the BO team as demonstrated to the customer that they could do it in weeks on SQL Server.
The customer is now planning to migrate the entire BW system to BO running on SQL Server + Analysis Services.
This is something everyone as to take serious notice of least be doomed.
I think perhaps it is not the end of BW but the beginning of the end of BW.
Rather sad.
