requirement is ,there r some 200 fields from flat file .but we need to extract some 30 fields out of those 200.can any body help me in acheving this.some on gave hint about fillers .

Let me know the fields which you want to select is in order(first 30 fields) and also they are from starting. If so was the case then in the transfer structure remove the fields which are not needed into BW.

If your file is containing 200 separated fields, then you need to create a structure with 200 infoobjects.
Now, as 170 are useless, you can create generic infoobjects to will just serve to receive the info from the file but will not be passed to the output structure of the datasource (you just don't map them).
