Question:
Hi all
Recently we upgraded our system from 2.1C to BW 3.5 ver. After the upgrade, we created a query using web application designer. We could save, upon querying, we get page not found ( normal explorer error).
Is there any setup required such as host, port etc.,
Could you provide some tip on this
Thanks
Answer:
maybe you need to start the was (http) service
ask you basis guys
also activate the internal igs for creating chart graphics
Answer:
Hi,
you can use SICF
ALRIGHT
Answer:
Using SICF to set up the http services is ok, but you also have to use SMICM to make the port and timeout settings.
The catch here is that the next time your system is 'bounced' the settings will disappear. So make your settings, whatever you find suitable in terms of port and timeout settings, and ask your basis guys to set the profile to these settings, so that you don't lose them after a shut down.
Another lesson learnt is your proxy settings. If you are accessing the web through your organization's proxy server, then the proxy script must have the mapping of your full hostname and the cluster name (if you have a failover system in your BW environment).
Please let us know if it worked

Absolutely True,
Port and Timeout settings in SMICM are quite important.
Hope it Helps

Thank you for all your help. We found an OSS note 805344
We need to add 2 additional parameters icm/host_name_full and icm/server_port_0.
Thank you once again.
