we are running the following:
- OS: HPUX
- DB: Oracle 9.2.0.6.0
- Business Information Warehouse 3.10
Here is my concern: I have created a characteristic with Master Data and texts. The key is a Char length 1.
I would like to display the Description of the Item instead of the key in the selection screen of the queries. I tried to play with the Business Explorer tab options but I did not succeed to allow user to type the Description in.
Do you know whether there is a way to do this or if it is not possible? (It would be kind of you to give me an answer even if it is to tell me it is not feasible).

By the way I forgot to mention the fact that it concerns the BEX queries and not the WEB Queries.

a) the description of the variable field?
b) the descriptions in the drop down list when selecting a value for the variable?

Hi sorry for my late answer...
Well in fact, when the selection screen pops up, I would like to allow the user to enter the description of the object instead of the code.
The characteristic I want to use is defined as a character with a length of 1. The description is a character with a length of two in fact.
One possible value would be:
Code: R
Description: DD
and I would liike the user to enter the DD instead of the R in the selction screen.
