Question:
We are implementing an SAP BW project. But we should load data from non-SAP system.
We don’t take DB link but take ETL tool informatica to load data into SAP BW. So we buy the adapter of Powerconnect for SAP BW from Informatica.
Before, we use SAP 3.1 non-unicode. We can Load Chinese from outside DB into BW by ETL Workflow. Everthing goes smoothly.
But now we upgrade BW 3.1 to 3.5 and change BW kernal and DB to unicode. Then something wrong with the connection.
In informatic warehouse designer , choose import targets from BW, if I choose logon lanaguage as EN then it will popup me the infoobject list in BW. If I choose logon lanaguage as ‘ZH’(chinese) it will popup me the error message said: Connect failed. Sap system exception raised. Key = RFC_CONVERSION_FIELD. Message=conversion error between two character sets.
Then I log on SAP BW . Check abap dump error , it said: Conversion error "ab_rfcput_string" from character set 4102 to character set 1100.
Environment:
BW : 3.5 DB code page: Unicode.
Source DB code page : unicode
Powerconnect for SAP BW : 7.1.2
Powercenter : 7.1.2
The RFC destination we created for connecting to Informatic, sets target character set with non-unicode.
Does anybody has the experience with the adapter or character set, please help me. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.
