language translation with crystal reports

Question: Hi,

we are using crystal reports V10 on a BW 3.5 system.

We create crystal reports on BW queries - we save the reports on BW and then publish them on the crystal enterprise portal via transaction /crystal/rptadmin.
Our portal comes up in 2 languages : german and english.
In our crystal reports, we created texts : titles, row labels, specific variables, and so on, in english (master language of the reports).

We want to translate these crystal texts in german. We tried to do it via the translation manager in RSA1, but can't find a way to have access to the crystal texts (OSS note under way..)

We then found the BW table in which the crystal texts are stored : RSCR_TEXTS, which has a language key. We tried to use this table and translated the texts (duplicate english records, change language key, translate) but,; once published in the portal (specifying the 2 languages to publish) : the german texts are not taken into account...

Did any of you come up with a translation process on crystal reports with BW?

Answer:
I'll update my own message

the problem was a bug in the communication between BW & crystal when having these systems installed on an AIX machine
the crystal support provided us with a fix, and the texts were taken into account.

but we ran into another pb : the communication isn't unicode compliant!
incredible since both BW and Crystal are unicode compliant...
=> our czech special characters weren't properly displayed in the reports on CE, and the crystal support refused to correct the bug since they are only supporting "latin languages" for the SAP kit...

the workaround : don't use the BW table to translate!
replace all your texts with a formula on the "language code" special field that is provided in the crystal designer when creating a report on a BW query...

the only point that we didn't solve yet is how to translate the entry variables: we tried it using the BW table, it didn't work, and the crystal support hasn't come up with an answer yet (they've only been working on that one since january, though )
