Hello Gurus,
I have a very basic question regarding the deletion of a key figure from CUbe. I have read some topics from this forum and came to conclusion that I have to do following steps.
1. Create a new cube(C2) like the existing cube (C1) remove the key figure that needs to be deleted from C2.
2. Maintain Update rules from C1 to C2 and copy the data by infopackage.
3. Delete the data from C1 and delete the cube C1.
4. Again recreate the cube C1 and its update rules ( from original Infosource . NO mapping for the deleted key figure from Infosource) and follow above steps to copy data from C2 to C1.
Is this the best way to get rid of one key figure from cube?
Any additional information on this topic?
If we have to do it in Production do we need to send tranports for every relevant step ?

Spot on, except step 3:
you don't have to actually delete the C1 physically: once the data is delted from C1, you can remove the key figure from it's definition without a problem.
Then indeed just create UR from C2 to C1 (where you off course don't map the key figure since it's not available in C1 or C2) and load the data back...

I created the export datasource but experiencing difficulty in creating infopackage. There is a datasource/infosource 8ZAB_CDE created for source infocube ZAB_CDE. I want to know how to schedule infopackage to copy data from ZAB_CDE to newly create cube. I don't see this infosource in infosource tree.
Please guide me if I am missing anything. ( OR is it that I have to load data from the source system of the original infocube again ? )
