Hier

Answer:
Wrong ......

Attr
Time dependent Attr
Hier

Answer:
if someone asked me that i would say "what do you mean, jelly bean?"

there are the 3 SIDs which stand for different things Surrogate ID, System ID, and Set ID. but if they are speaking specifically about Surrogate IDs then there are more than 3 in BW.

you have the main characteristic SID "S" (a must for a characteristic), potentially 2 attribute SIDs "X" and "Y" (time independent and time dependent respectively); kinda 2 for hierarchies "I" and "K" (never been sure about "I" though, both are SID tables that reference the Hierarchy ID SID but "I" cross references the hierarchy node SID) the Dim ID (yes Dim IDs are SIDs) "D" and the Read Pointer (RNSID) don't know its starting letter - don't care. may even be more, Surrigate ID make the world go around.

the real answer to that question should be "ask me something important, stupid!"

Answer:
blah blah blah

you gave this way too much thought ....

Now you have confused Kartheek

i will agree that the question was silly and i also assumed that he was refering to sid tables for a characteistic.

In order to keep the my reply at the same level as the person who is asking the question i had to come up with the simplest answer.

i dont think Kartheek is really interested in the detail which u have provided him. He just wants to get by his interview.

lets talk about the guy whos is taking the interview.
We know that he does not know a whole lot of BW
Secondly to come up with this silly question he has looked at the master data tab of a characteristic and hier. and actuall say the text say 'SID Table attr.' and decided that it would be a good interview question.

So .. ...... shoot me
