Question:
We are on 3.0B SP8, when try to update ODS from PSA with option 'schedule the update', we are going to select some data targets, unfortunately we could not found any data target below the select data target radio button, this is happened only in our Production box, not in our Development. Does anybody know what cause the problem ? Highly appreciate for any inputs. Thank you.
Answer:
RI,
we are on 2.1c and this happens if the data is already reached the cube. check if ur request is already in the cube ? if its is there and you delete the request, the data targets will appear in the PSA.

Answer:
TJ, we are sure the request is not updated to Infocube, there is message " Delta to PSA only (date) is still not updated in any InfoCube" when we clicked the data target picture. Please advise. Thank you
Answer:
Go to your ODS and via right click select Delete Data. That way you are sure there's no more data in the ODS.
After that go back to your Modeling screen (refresh it) and try again. Now it should work.

Answer:
El, we can not delete all the contents of the ODS since it's already contains lots of data from diffrent requests.
Is there another solution for this ? Please advice. Thanks.
Answer:
maybe this one ?
try right click on the ods, generate export datasource (perhaps will you have to "open" the system)
and try again your first action in the psa

Answer:
just a point if you want to see the generated datasource. Make sure that you can view them by pressing Control and F3 and select show generated datasources.
Answer:
i thikn the problem could be that, when creating update rules for the ODS you did not specify this Infosource u r using to load from..
or you had creating the update rules after the load to PSA.. just some possibilities
BTW, I just heard with SP9 due next week,, a PSA request can be updated to any data targets irrespective of the data target to which it was loaded..
some consolation
Answer:
Thanks for all the inputs,
we have checked for the ODS datasource, Update Rule for the IS, all is seems maintained well. Fyi, we have done the same process for the same objects, and got no problem.
The problem begin when we do data loading to PSA only with 2 request, 1 for historical data and another one for delta data (don't know if this is the problem, we done it before with no issues), after that we update the data target from the PSA by sequence. The first PSA request (historical data) is successfull uploaded to data target, but NOT for the second one. All we done with 'Start the Update Immediately' option fr PSA, when we go into the monitor, the request status was changed immediately to 'red' status, there is 'Short dump overview' button but we got nothing when click on it. trx sm21 show nothing at all. On the monitoring status tab, we got the information like below :
------------------------------------
Processing in Warehouse timed out; processing steps mising
Diagnosis
Processing the request in the BW system is taking a long time and the processing step Update rules has still not been executed.
System response
<DS:DE.RSCALLER>Caller is still missing.
Procedure
Check in the process overview in the BW system whether processes are running in the BW system under the background user.
If this is not the case, check the short dump overview in the BW system.
------------------------------------
When we tried to do Detail - Data Package - Right mouse Click - Manual Update, we got the following message :
------------------------------------
Cannot Update Request <request#> in Data Target
Message no. RSM1523
Diagnosis
Request <request#> cannot be updated into a data target, even though the update into the data targets was chosen in the Scheduler.
System response
The request has been terminated.
Procedure
Check that you have chosen data targets for the update in the InfoPackage. There may be no active update rules for the InfoSource, or you may only be loading the data into the PSA . Request the data again. Often there are remaining elements from the request in the data targets. That is, there are still links to a previous update of this request in the administration tables for the data targets. Remove these by deleting the request in the data target adminstration. This means that the request can be updated again.
Procedure for System Administration
See also SAP Note 448955.
------------------------------------
So we tried to the 'Schedule the Update', wish can select the data target for it, but the problem is there is no any data targets listed.
Please help. Thanks. [sorry for the long description]
Answer:
If you can't afford to delete your data, then you would have to go in debugging to see which tables are used and possibly change some entries there. BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL THOUGH!!!
The reason why you don't see it, is that the request has already been loaded into the correct Data Target (according to the system that is). You must "tell" the system that this is not correct (you might have to do it in debugging even).
By the way, I suddenly get this <DS:DE.RSCALLER>Caller is still missing.
messages as well when uploading master data??? Still haven't figured out what's wrong... have quite a lot on my head these days

Answer:
RI.. seems like you could use this note..
check note 575285
Answer:
all,
we have decided to take a risk to apply note 521522.
When we look into the RSBODSLOGSTATE
table, we got the PROCESSED_ONE value = PROCESSED_ALL value = 50.427
The SID number for the problem PSA request is 50.279
The last 3 ODS request number is 50.426; 50.316; 50.261...
The question is what the different if we replace the PROCESSED_ONE value with PROCESSED_ALL value if they are was same ? and the value is larger than 50.279 ? Or we can or need to change to value smaller than 50.279 say 50.278 ?? Need your edvise.
Thank you very much,
Rita.
Answer:
but is thatn;t note for SP2.. and u seem to be on SP 8
Answer:
yes, we are on SP8. Note 521522 was suggested by oss.
We have also reviewed note 575285, but it seems we need apply SP9.
Is there any correction code for notes 575285 ?
Thanks.

Hello,
if you choose to take this a bit risky way of dealing with your problem, you must set the value to a LOWER number than your request number you want to load so 50.278 is enough.
However it is extremly important that no other loading takes place in the system and that you restore the number to the original after having loaded your request.
I have done this and it worked but you need to be careful.
Kindest regards
