What are the scenarios when only fact tables are to be deleted and when both fact and dimentions are to be deleted.

if you want to reload the cube directly after the delete, and you think that the combination of characteristics in the dimensions will be pretty the same (only key figures changed, thus), you choose not to delete the dimid just to gain some time at reload (dimid don't have to be recreated), otherwise you delete them.
