Dear all,
using Bex I can add a query to my favorites, however when I try to assigne to a role its says "you are not assigned to a role".
what can i do?
I tried to create a role on BW and assign my user but it still not working.
do i need to define authorizations for the specific role or the system gets my user authorizations?

Answer:
If you have all the end-user roles assigned to you own user id, then you should be able to save workbooks (not queries) to that role.
If you want to save queries to roles, then those roles should have authorization to create/modify/execute queries.

It is not going to consider your user role.You have to mentoin what type of role authorization you need to give.go to transaction pfcg and create a role and assign authorization onject for Bex.

Dear all,
I have authorizations created based on roles, lets say per functional area I created a role for create and modify queries and other just to run queries....
In order to achieve what I exposed in my first post - "save a query on a role using Bex" - "similar" as favourites, I have crated a "Comp. Role" and I assigned one or more roles and users to it.
In this way, I can assign queries to this role using bex if i am log on as one of the users assigned to the Comp. Role....
