Books

Question: Hi All,
I have been tasked by my manager to find the best functional book out there for bw. Please help if you can.

Thanks
Anthony

Answer:
There are several books out there. But I don't think any of them really cover BW from a functional perspective.

The book Mastering the SAP Business Information Warehouse by Bill Inmon, et Al. is a good overall of BW and Data Warehouses, but I was extremely disapointed at its lack of any real technical information.

The book SAP BW: A step by step guide on Amazon is probably the closet, but hasn't gotten good reviews.

If you want a jump start on reporting, the Reporting Step by Step for BW 2.1C is not a bad place to start, even if it is very outdated for BW 30B.

You can search Amazon, but I don't think you will get anymore out of them compared to reading online help and just diving in hands on. (Or taking the courses.)

Answer:
I would vote for Mastering BW by Kevin ..

But if u are interested in understanding the reporting side (not what is available just what can u do with the tool) .. then go for the reporting guide published by SAP

Answer:
I have 'Business Information Warehouse for SAP' ISBN 0-7615-2335-9 but the best way for anything to do with BW is read threw the notes on here and help.sap or sap notes
