We're upgrading our system and checking our loads. We're having problem with one of the standard infosources for an infoobject that is picking up the wrong custom infoobjects and custom fields. How can I correct this?

Here is the details:
We are working on the 0WBS_ELEMT infoobject. We enhanced it to include custom attributes. We added code to user exit ZXRSAU02. We have 2 sets of custom attributes. The incorrect attributes are showing in attribute tab. They are showing up in the Comm. structure with the wrong fields and field types.
When I start moving the attributes from the left hand side to the right side and vice versa in the attibute tab, it kept saying that the Characcteristic 0WBS_ELEMT: Attribute ZZZTEST was deleted --->conversion.
I am wondering where can I start in terms of incorporating the correct attibutes that I want to the infoobject 0WBS_ELEMT, and for it to show up with the correct fields and field type in the Comm. structure. I can seem to insert new one or delete the incorrect ones form the comm. struc.

r u telling us that the attributes of 0wbs_element in BW got changed ?? first make sure they are what u want in the IO definition.. if not change them here.. this should be reflected in the communication structure

Yes, the consultant that was here helped with adding new custom attributes to this IO. Would you ever recommend do this or creat our own Z IO? Is there a way to completely delete them? I tried deleting them but they keep poping back into the right hand side of the attributed tab. And when I perfrom a check or activation, it gives an error Characcteristic 0WBS_ELEMT: Attribute ZZZTEST was deleted --->conversion.

i think it is oK to appear on the right side..
before making any changes.., i think your problem is that u have data loaded in 0wbs_element.. go ahead and delete the data and also u might have to delete any cubes which are using this object...
after deleting the data u can delete the attributes...

We deleted the master data from 0WBS_ELEMT but we still get errors Characcteristic 0WBS_ELEMT: Attribute ZZZTEST was deleted --->conversion when we moved these attributes from the left hand side to the right hand side of the Attributes tab.
I looked within the infoobject it self and there is no option to unlock the msater data. I also looked under the Tools and no options to unlock the master data. Is there another place for me to look into?
My co-worker told me that it could be when Basis did the upgrade, something was left out and the replication got messed up and that's why the attributes are incorrect. Would you suppose so?

Is it best practice to rename a "0" IO to "Zxxxx" when customizing, and leave "0" IOs in original form?

there are some advantages of using 0 objects.. when a new version is delivered you can atleast compare the active version and the content version and merge any changes..
try the option extras - convert all tables..
go to change mode in the cube and click on extras and say unlock IOS..
hope it works out..
if not go to se14 and enter the table names for master data and sid tables if any.. and select delete data and activate and adjust the DB
