Question:
Hi All,
I am doing a delta upload to the master data as it is possible for the standard datasource 0customer_attr in the 3.0(b). I did initialize the delta and after that I created a new customer on the R/3 side and on the BW side I did a delta upload. I am getting the follwoing message. I remote logged on to an another system that is available for me, and did the same and it worked. Can somebody give some insight to this?
Thanks

Answer:
My suggestion would be that first of all check the delta queue is in R/3 transaction RSA7 and then that is has your new customer record in it.

Answer:
Hi,
I checked delta queue on the R/3 side, and found the record count 0. What can be wrong?
Thanks

Answer:
Try creating a new customer record and then check the Delta queue straight away. If still zero, then maybe try and re-initialize the delta queue.

Answer:
no experience in delta with master data, but are you sure you don't something like a v3 update ?

Answer:
Hi ,
I guess CHC is right, for transaction data this works ,after adding new record, do v3 update,go to v3 control and select JOB parameters,JOB control options.
then check delta queue thru rsa7.

Answer:
Hi,
I added a new customer. After that I checked the delta queue. Still, I record count is zero. Initializing again works as it loads the entire data as of that point of time. But, our objective is to do the delta load.
Thanks

Answer:
I am facing issues with delta load for 0CUSTOMER Attributes.
5 records were created in the source on 12/09/2004. The extractor was run on the same day and the load shows 0 records extracted.
The customer records in the source system do not have a time stamp to see if the records were createad before the extraction job or after the extraction job.
Secondly even if the records are created after the extraction job , it should still be picked up.
this is a standard extractor which supports delta. Does anybody know a solution for this problem ?

Answer:
Master data deltas do not use V3 technology to control delta changes. SAP use change pointers for delta management on Master Data. Speak with your basis guys and enquire about transactions BD21 (other transactions also).
Cheers,
Kevin
Answer:
Do a full load with that customer number and see if it comes up. If it odesnt then it may not be a delta problem
Answer:
OSS note 141436 has the details on change pointers etc. I suggest you do the research, then tell Basis what needs to be done.
Ken
Answer:
Thanks Ken and Kevin.
Yes I did look at the OSS note 141436..but I could not really move further as I had limited authorization in the R/3 system.
After reading the note I enquired with the R/3 team and it turned out to be that they had turned off the change pointers for soem time on that day and this is the resule of that.
did a full load and was able to resolve the problem

Phemrajni.
