Question:
We use standard SAP trip approval (travel manager) workflow and have it set up to workflow to the Chief position. When the Chief position is vacant due to the employee leaving the position, we would like to be able to set up a substitute for a different position from another organizational unit who can approve trip. We have not been able to use a substitute when the Chief position is vacant. We are wondering if this is possible.
Has anyone else been able to do this?

You can configure a substitute in the Chief 's business workplace by choosing the settings/workflow settings/maintain substituition.

We currently use the method you suggested to set up substitutions and it works for most workflows. However, if the Chief position is vacant, this method of substitution does not work for Trip Approval workflow for us.
Any further suggestions?
