Hi,
what does the report RMBWV303 do ?
the code has refference to function "MCEX_UPDATE_03".
we have a job failing on our R/3 production system. this report was scheduled by a user whose id is now disabled. if this report is not required to be run, we could delete the job.
please do advice.

This is a function which clears out the V3 update queue for 03 transactions into the BW delta update tables for BW to be able to pull information from SAP into BW.
You will need to check with you BW developers to see what InfoCubes or ODS objects this job may be feeding.

I believe you have to schedule it yourself. We are actually moving to a different update method which does not require the same type of update. It (under an older plugin on the R/3 side) should allow you to schedule it from LBWE *but* we are on a newer plugin which does not have the same options. I only know this is what it is supposed to be from the BW350 course documentation.
You can schedule the job manually (SM36), but you may want to refer to these notes for better clarification:
