Question:
Hello All
We have multiple cubes using an infoobject that was initially set up as not being authorization relevant. Now management has decided that cetain values for this infoobject should be restricted to certain users. For example, manager A should only see his values for 0PLANT, manager B shold only see his plants, etc. Is there any way to change an infoobject to make it authorization relevent once cubes are built and loaded without unloading/rebuilding/reloading the cubes?
Thanks,
David
Answer:
Yes. Provided the person who does the updating of cubes (SAP_ALL for a third party tool, in which case it doesn't matter) also gets this role, just in case.
In any case these specific authorizations are only BEx relevant and should not affect the data update. (I put in the first sentence because I haven't tried it, but the object level authorization is only BEx relevant).

Answer:
Have a look at RSSM/PFCG and you'll see that very briefly there are 3 steps:
* in RSSM : create an authorization object for 0PLANT
* in RSSM : flag for whihc of the Cubes that contain 0PLANT an authorization check should be carried out.
* in PFCG: include the authroization object in relevant roles.
