Hi BW gurus
The Q might seem a bit basic, but am new to BIW....
We have a char called country in the cube. Char country has an attribute Continent.
We want the user to enter Continent and the data for all the countries belonging to that continent should be made available. Pls note that continent is not populated in the cube.

Answer:
No need to state you are new to BW, we noticed it.
You need to
1) in the infoobject country, make attribute "continent" as navigational
2) in the cube you are speaking about, allow "continent" to be navigational
3) in the query on the cube, use your newly added navigational attribute and restrict it via a variable in order for your users to be able to dinamically choose wich continent.
Refering to the basic rules of this forum, you should now dig a little bit on your own on the keyword "navigational attribute" and come back with detailed questions if needed, now that you had the general steps to be followed.
