I am still a greenhorn in BW. I am very interested to know what to expect in real life projects. To start with, could you give a brief example of one of the greatest challenges u faced in your BW career and how you've solved it. Could be non-technical as well.

Couple of Challenges.
1. Implementing BW requires, both Technical and Functional skill. A technical person with a Analysis skill and understanding of ( R/3, if it is the source system), helps to a great deal.
2. Understanding the requirement and taking time to analyze the Business content vs Customizing, helps to implement the system in a robust way
3. Often, ODS is wrongly used in the implementation, when it is not required and some people may create ODS and heavy duty ABAP to load the cube.
4. Must be willing to change the data model, if it is not working, efficient or incorrectly implemeted.
You may take a lot of heat on the last point, for sure...
