Question:
Hi,
I have just installed a BW 2.0b and I am trying to complete the post installation steps. I am logged in as SAP*. When I tried to create a new logical system name, the system does not let me do it and it gives an error message that I cannot do it as SAP* with client 000 and when I tried to copy or create another user I get same restrictions. How do I:
1) Create or enter a new logical system name and a new client
associated with it. (for using BW)
2) Create and copy an existing user (SAP* to Something else)
Apparently, I am missing some post installation steps.
Your help is highly appreciated !
thanks,
Brandon
Answer:
Hi There
Did you create the client copy after the installation ? if not do that first and go to RZ10 select the proper profiule attach that client there and re start the system.
After doing the above step get into the transaction SALE and create the logical system name and assigned to the client which you did the client copy. You need not to log in as sap* or DDIC to create logical system.
Thanks

Answer:
What are the steps for creating a new client.
When I try to create a new user after logging in as SAP* and client 000, it give me the error:
"The SAP BW system must not be operated in client 000" and it throw me back in the previous manu."
After fresh install you have only two clients 000 and 066 to login. Both
of these are restricted, so to create a new client, where do I go from here ?
thanks for your help,
Brandon
Answer:
I am having similar problem, when I try to create a client while logged
in as SAP* and usning SCC4, it requires me to enter an existing "logical system name",
which is not present in the system just after fresh installation. I checked the table for logical system name and it is empty.
I cannot creat or copy client ?
Can anyone pls, help !
