Hi all...
Being new to workflow I was very Happy that I was able to Start and put in place the CATS Time sheet approval workflow . Further to client request I was able to execute the transaction on ESS as well .. .and all this time client was ready to the proposal that the workitem for CATS time sheet approval will be displayed in the Busniess workplace so superior can go into either R/3 Business workplace or through MSS ...
But suddenly they say that not all employees will be having R/3 Licenses ..but all with have ESS licences ..So my Question is :
Is there a way by which I can display workitems for an employee who does not have an R/3 Licence(and I assume therefore no Business Workplace).. into ESS itself ..So that he/she can click the workitem and start working on it ...I am asking this from Workflow point of view .

My understanding is: the workplace is tied to a particular user and therefore they need a logon and corresponding license.
I'm not familiar with ESS. I assume, like EBP, it is a separate system that communicates back to R/3. I also assume there is wf in ESS.
Who would be acting on items in R/3 then?
We have a similar issue in EBP with limited license users in EBP that may need to do some very limited activities in R/3.

Answer:
Yes there is a functionality in ESS. The ESS users don't have to access the R/3 system. Simply you'll have to assign the tcode BWSP, from this
tcode they will receive the workitems from the ESS's SAP inbox.
Also, if you want them to receive a notification to their outlook, you will have to schedule batch job from the program "RSWUWFML" and they will receive a notification to their outlook.
