Question:
I've created process chains in BW. In a process chain I've created messages which will should onlybe sent to the user inbox when a job aborts within the process chain. The problem I am encountering is when I am maintaining the message. I edit the message, click Maintain Recipient, and click the TRANS option tab to set the Send Status to "ONLY IF ERROR OCCURS" to both "SEND CONFIRM STATUS" and "ALSO PUT CONFIRMED SEND STATUS IN INBOX". I then green arrow back one level, click save and green arrow back to the process chain. If I go back and edit the same message again, the settings that I applied doesn't hold. Why???

Answer:
Certain functions of the whole SAP Office mailing stuff do not yet work in Process Chains ... i think this is the reason.
But more conceptual : why would you want to make a setting there. If, on the a Process Chain step you create a messgae and do it for the option "... errors", then a mial is only send when the specific step fails.
So i see no need in changing this specific settings within the message definition
