Question:
Hi,
Can the Same R/3 server load data to cubes in 2 different BW servers ?
We have a scenario where in there are 2 different R/3 servers and both of them have a Bw instance of its own.
There is a requirement where in details in R/3 system 1 is needed for the BW which is actually connected to the R/3 system 2?
In this case is this possible for R/3 system 1 to transfer the data to both BW server 1 and BW server 2?
Also if this is possible how do we ensure that only one cube in BW server 2 is loaded from R/3 server 1 and not all cubes ?
Regards,
Jayanthi.
Answer:
- restriction to this : not all the datasources are able to do it -
in BW.2, create a new source system towards R3.1
in BW.2, replicate the needed datasource from R3.1 and do all the necessary stuff to connect this datasource to the correct cube in BW.2, as for a normal situation
if you are not in the special case of a datasource that do not support it, the delta queue in R3.1 will contain two parts : one for BW.1 and one for BW.2 as the delta queue is normally target system dependant
to avoid to update all the cubes in BW.2, in the datatarget tab of your infopackage, tick the "select datatarget" box and choose the right cube
that's it

Answer:
Hello.
Some extractors could not be target dependent; (for example 0fi_gl_04 with some old plugin version), so, the delta cannot work in a correct way, so, the same delta cannot be sent to 2 bw systems.

Answer:
Hi CH,
If BW1 is already connected to R3 and BW2 now needs to be connected, will an init run for BW2 cause problems to the delta for BW1. Will the delta queue recognise deltas on diff target BWs?
I am about to face this scenario and would like to have your inputs on it.
Thanks and regards,

No.
Yes.
with the restriction I mentionned. As dieguz mentionned at least this one is not target dependent. Which is not surprising, as at the beginning there were no delta at all, for FI.
Answer:
Hello BW guys.
Now we are experimenting the connection of one R/3 with two BWs (BW1, BW2) using 0FI_GL_4.
With plugin 2003.1 the extractor sends deltas to BW1, BW2 in the correct way (there is a daily delta for BW1 and BW2)...

You mean 1.2B? Or do you mean only FI-GL? AR/AP have deltas.
