Answer:
there is a how to document on the service market place under media library > how to guides > guide list sap bw3.0b/bw3.1 content called "how to... calculate with attributes"

it is a good step by step guide for taking KF attributes into a usable KF. you can use the technique with dates, and even some characteristics (if they are numeric).

the basic process is to capture the attribute with a formula variable (set as replacement path) pull up the characteristic tech name, replace with attribute, select the attribute, and chose how it will display. after you create the variable you just drop it into a calculated key figure.

hope that helps.

I did the exact same thing but when I compare.........The values are not right.Am I doing something wrong?

check to see if the key figure value is a multiple of the attribute value. if it is then it is multiplying by the number of transactions (maybe make a counter and divide it into the total?).

i have also seen different results when the formula variable is palced in a global CKF rather than a local structure component.

unfortunately, some of this stuff "almost" works but not completely.

Answer:
It worked for me.I created a structure and created a new formula and dragged in this formula variable instead of creating a global Calculated Key figure. It works fine now. Thanks a lot 2bwornot2bw........Dont know what your name is!!!!!
