hi there.
ALEREMOTE and BWREMOTE are system users....
we thought the issue was with our process chains but then we manually ran the infopackage (selecting run in background - immediately)....
when we monitor sm50, the only BWREMOTE processes running are dialog..... we would of course expect them to be background processes....
any ideas?

according to my non-theoretical-knowledge, the option "background-immediate" generates 1 background process for the whole load-time.
However, this background process doesn't do the actal loading, it just does the 'administration' and generates 1 or more dialog processes whihc take care of actually loading the data (the nr of dialog processes generated depends on the nr of parallel processes you have set-up)
Off course, if i got it wrong somewhere, please correct me...

thanks for the info... it makes sense - we do indeed see an occasional background process for a very short period of time during the load...
presumably the same logic applies for when you schedule the load for a specific time....
