There's nothing like going on a SAP course to give you the overview to get you started. If your budget is a little more modest, then I suggest you saunter over to Amazon and look up SAP BW.
I can recommend SAP BW Professional by Norbet Egger, published by SAP Press (ISBN 1-59229-017-5), which gives you an introduction and some step-by-step examples.

I dont think for learning web reporting in BW 3.0b U can learn byirself without spenting so much bucks ( splly if u r familier with bex reporting ) , U just need to know the tcode to activate web services ( tcode SICF) & then start all child node of http servers & other services. Then simple give ip address of ur presentation server in ur web address bar if your query does not get display by the sapserver name .
After that it just a matter of self learning , If u quite comfertable with bex reporting you can learn this also without any guide .

If u really sincare to learn WAD then I think U should not have any problem ( if u know bex reporting part ) so just hit n trial web reporting or try http://help.sap.com . I think thats the gateway to learn any topic in SAP . Still if U face some prob then go through this documenation . I also learnt frm these documents & help site .
