Hello BW Gurus,
We are planning to install SAP 3.0B on a HP-ux environment (Central Instance, DB, App Server all in one box). I have heard that IGS can only be installed on a Windows Platform and not on Unix. Is that true? Would I need a separate Application Server or Gateway to do this?

IGS needs to be on a seperate server.. but the requirements are quite small.. u can use an existing NT server to install this.. or even a unused NT PC..
it is planned with basis ver 6.30 to release IGS on UNIX
also installing IGS is not mandatory.. if u r not using any grpahs or charts .. u don't need it

We have connected EP SP5 to BW 3.0B (on unix) and have installed IGS
on a WIN2K machine. We have also created an RFC destination for
IGS.The test connection keeps failing. Do we need to have the SAP GUI
on the machine that has the IGS?

have you some documents to confirm this installation?

My BASIS refer to this OSS NOTE --> 458731
The IGS runs on a range of platforms. For releases 4.6D, 6.10 and 6.20 it runs on Windows NT and Windows 2000.
The IGS 6.40 will support Windows 64-bit platforms. Earlier releases do not support Windows 64-bit platforms.
The IGS is ported to Unix platforms with the IGS 6.40.
Note: BW Release < 3.5 requires an IGS running on Windows 32-bit.

well, you got me there! I installed IGS on a BW 3.5 system so I did not hit this limitation. I also installed IGS 6.40 on a Win2000 system and using BW 3.1...
