Question:
we have a key figure in many of our cubes in production for which the aggregation type was specified as maximun. we need to change that to summation now. Can anyone suggest the best and simple way to do that as right now the aggregation type is greyed out and it doesn't allow to change.

If I understand the question correctly that would require reloading the cube. Since a single entry in the fact table now contains aggregated values it is not possible derive the original values to aggregate them a different way. If you know that the maximum of several values is 10, you can't derive the sum without going back to the original values.
