ODS updating multiple Cubes

Question: We have been live for a while wherein the ODS gets delta's from R/3 and these are sent again as deltas to a cube.

For some new requirements we have now added a new cube that is to be fed from the ODS. And we want this too be a delta load as the original cube.

The problem is we can't re-init the new cube as the selections overlap .

My thought was to do full loads into the new cube untill all existing data from the ODS gets into it. Then delete the init from the ODS to the cubes . And do a re-init without data xfr to the cubes . And then schedule the deltas for both cubes .

I wanted to know if this is a feasible option or not and will the original cube let me re-init despite having old deltas from the ODS . I can't try it on our system until next week but we are trying to evaluate our options .

Thanks for any help

Answering in short YES its Feasible ans absolutely possible.

But from 3.1C onwards u can try below

Choose from the Context menu for the ODS object

Update ODS data in data targets.
An information message appears, stating “In ODS object ... there are no new deltas to be updated”. Confirm this message with Enter so that you can choose between
1) a full update,
2) an init update,
3) and filling data targets initially with init/deltas.

Since u need to syncchronise ur Deltas later between both cubes choose option 3

When you make your selection, the system displays a data target selection for reconstruction from the ODS object with just the new data targets that can also be connected to the ODS object.
By selecting the data targets and Enter, the data target reconstruction begins.
In doing so, these data targets can also be provided with deltas from the ODS object later.

Or:

Choose the Reconstruct/Add button from the Reconstruct tab page in the administration of the connected data target. Thus, the data target is filled initially with init/deltas.

Hope it Helps
