Brackets in BEx

Question: Hi SAPfans,

I am having a strange phenomenon for which I do not have an explanation at the moment.

When I am executing my Inventory Report and look at my Stock Figures for the last few months, I see that sometimes the Stock Balance is displayed in brackets [15 PC] in BEx.

It happens that one month it is displayed normally - the next month in Brackets.

I did not set up to display negative values in brackets in the Query Designer. There are sometimes even negative values with Brackets [-15 PC].

Anyone has an idea where this comes from?

Cheers
Joe

Answer:
check the Styles of the cells that have a different display... when running a query they should all have the same style, in a workbook it might be screwed up (but usually only because of interference of a person)

my guess is that the Styles somehow differ... if they do, your next quest is to find out why? if this happens in a workbook, try running the underlying query and see if it reacts in the same way...

let us know your findings

Answer:
El Belgio,

thanks a lot for the fast reply - respect!

No - I do not think that the problem lays in the Styles of the Excel because it also happens when I insert the Query into a completely new and virgin Excel-Sheet. So I guess the "strange" effect gets already delivered from SAP.

One more thing:
I just run the query in RSRT - and there I also get the brackets....
So no Excel-issue!

Joe

Answer:
but do you get a mixture as well in RSRT????

if that's the case I assume you're dealing with a bug... probably in your frontend patch

cheers,

El Belgio

PS no worries on the fast reply... I'm loading from a slow system today

Answer:
Hi,

It's not a bug but normal functionality.
In inventory controlling InfoCube and other non-cumulative InfoCubes special validity table is maintained (transaction RSDV).
This table is automatically filled during data upload.
Lets assume that data was loaded into the InfoCube with values from 01.01.2004 to 10.01.2004. Stocks are displayed in accordance to this period. If you run a query that should display stock balance for
11.01.2004 or later the result value will be displayed in parenthesis. That is because it is outside validity interval.

Dear guest, or should I call you "Mr faggot" as I believe it is one of the nick you used in the past, may I ask you to try to avoid such comments, or I would have to cross one or two boarders to come and kick your ass.

I'm fed up with your behaviour here. If you are frustrated in one way or another, please just log on to sapgenie instead or, better, go outside and do some sport.

Thanks
