If you are on 3.0B, I can't help you there as I have no experience yet. I have only my delta 3.0B training notes.

However, I can help you with event chains(2.0B), if you can give me your e-mail address. You have signed on as a guest so I can't see an e-mail or profile.

Best regards.

Hello Rahul,

I'll post or e-mail the details over this week-end. You could have given your e-mail id much earlier, as we were closed from 12/23 to 01/01, and I could have sent a detailed e-mail.

Hello Rahul,

Here it is. Rather than an e-mail, posting the process here can trigger more discussions, or experts can point out errors of omission or commission! Event chains work in my case.

EVENT CHAIN MANAGEMENT

Let's say you want to run an update job and then delete the PSA after a successful update.

1) Create an event in transaction SM62: Give a name and description.
E.g. UPDATED (and give some appropriate description)

2) Let's say you have a batch job that pulls data from R/3, BI_BTCH_UPDATE_C03

3) Let's say that this is a job scheduled to run daily. In the 'Schedule' tab-strip of the InfoPackage, click on 'SubseqProcessing'.

4) Select the box 'Trigger events' and click the green check (tick) mark.

5) In the blank space for 'Events following successful...' type 'UPDATED' or select it from the drop down list; leave the parameters field blank (there are no variants for the update jobs, other than user id).

6) Verify that this InfoPackage is scheduled as a periodic job, to run at the frequency and time that you desire.

7) Back up one step, and select Tools->Event Processing chain, from the menu options of the AWB.

8. Type in any suitable event chain name.

9) In the Table 'Events that should cause a reaction', type (or select from the drop down list) 'UPDATED'.

10) Go to the PSA view (RSA15) of the AWB.

11) Right-mouse-click on the desired PSA (to match the InfoSource from which the batch update job is created) and click on 'Delete PSA data...'

12) Click on 'Start conditions'.

13) Click on 'After event' button.

14) In the event field that is now highlighted, type in 'UPDATED' or choose from the drop down list.

15) Select Periodic

16) Check and Save.

17) Type an appropriate name after BI_EVEN and hit start.

18. You can experiment with 'Older than' or 'Before' choices in the main 'Delete PSA data' screen.

19) Type in some appropriate name after BI_PSAD and click the 'Start' button.

If you don't want to include PSA-deletions, and instead, add other update jobs, you can do it in the same way. By creating different event names in SM62, you can create a chain or you can have parallel jobs kicked off by one event (depends on number of BGD and DIA processors, and so on...).

Let me know if you have any problems.

Best regards.
