Question:
Hi all,
It may sound funny, but after going thru all the SCOT and SAPCONNECT posting on SAPFANS.COM, am totally confused now.
While going thru the posting I came across sentences like "You have to configure/install SAPCONNECT for sending mail to non-sap system".
Then it has also been talked about " how to set/configure the SCOT"....
Now my question is that ----> What is SAPCONNECT. Is it s'thing which needs to be installed before sending external mail. Does it come with SAP frontend?
How is SAPCONNECT related with SCOT?
http://www.sap-basis-abap.com/sapbs035.htm from this link , I am able to digest somewhat abt SCOT.
Can somebody throw a picture please.
Thanks a lot.

Answer:
There are series of steps that you will have to carry out in SCOT config to enable SAP workflow to send emails to gateway and then gateway forwarding it to other mail systems (like Lotus Notes).
For example in SCOT you will have to create a node under communication type INT. Then you will have to lso set that up, system will guide you. You will have to follow sap help for this because there are far too many and very critical settings to be done.
Answer:
Thanks for your input.
These things are OK. I am not asking about how to proceed with the customization/setting for SCOT.
What I am asking is where does SCOT/SAPCONNECT comes from.
Is it a part of SAP Frontend installation like RFCSDK?
SAPCONNECT and SCOT both are diffrent things?
What is the meaning of installing SAPCONNECT?
How it is diffrent from configuring SCOT?
Hope I clear myself this time.
thanks
