workbook & web

Question: hi!
i've created a workbook, in order to manipulate a result.
now i need to publish it in the web.
can i with the web application designer?

thanks for your help!!
y.

Answer:
Hi

No i dont believe you can not publish the workbook to the web, however you could try saving your excel workbook as a HTML page and manipulating it in the web designer but you will need something like frontpage to help with this.

You will need ot create a new template in the web app designer.

Cheers

This is incorreclty worded.

1. You cannot publish an Excel workbook to the web ([i]at least not as of BW 3.0B[i])
2. But what you can do is take those same queries you have in Excel and publish them to the web using web templates.

You need to open the WAD (Web Application Designer), create a new web template, and associated your query(s) with web items on the web template.

Search this forum for posting on WAD/Web Applciation Deisgner for more information on how to use this.

Answer:
ok...
but if i need to calculate a rusult, i can't determine in the bw?
can i post process the template?
y.

Answer:
Yes, but depending on how and where you need to do the calculation, you can use the table api (exit) to create a table class to manipulate the table results before being out putted on the web.

You can see examples in posts here about that topic as well.

R U Sure its not a result you can calculate in BW somehow, simply to make it easier to output to the web?
