Can Anyone tell me why we use infoset query , AFAIK we use infoset query for master data or flat tables . but we can do same thing with the bex also then why we use infoset query . Wat is the main Difference b/w classic Infoset & infoset . Becoz I know only Infoset
ur small suggestion will be gr8 help for me .

Hi Shane,
Infosetqueries(build on infosets) are used for detail reorting.These reports mainly used as Jump targets from Bex reports.If you want reports on tables ,without building the cube directly we can build reports on tables using infosets.no doubt Bex reports have more functionality but infosetqueries are build without any cube build.In my company we are using many infoset queries build directly on Journals tables.Or If the users want to see the latest data(ex If they want to see 5 min back data)we can use infosetqueries or remote cubes.Basic cubes needs loading and we can't load every 5 min,atleast we can do is 30 min load.Hope this helps you.

Hi Shane,
If you are taking about key date in the reports,if you go to the properties of the query one field is there named "keydate".This is for calculating Currency .Explain your prm clearly.
