Sorry about yesterdays Posting....Had a Long Day
I have Time Dimension "Posting period" which has 12 months as variables. I have placed this in the columns and am trying to restrict it to one month. When I place this in the filter it takes the whole dimension instead of just one month.
Is there a way to just filter a particular value and not the whole dimension.
I have tried placing it free characteristics also. Does'nt work. So Gurus please help me out.

put your posting period in the filter in the query designer and rt. click and restrict it to the time period u want.
