Question:
Hello,
I am loading data into an Infocube from a flat file.
The monitor gave me green light and everything seems to be Ok.
On the Infocube Manager I can see the Request with green status as well. However if I try to display the infocube content I get NOTHING - no data on it. (???)
Any idea about where is my data?
I had some unusual activities running in my system:
1. In BW I had an upgrade prepare running (30A to 30B) but it was not completed and it will be repeated.
2. I have my BW in test and it's connected to an R/3 test system that was refreshed from Production > I loosed everything on the R/3 (I already know how to reconstruct that).
Regards
EF
Answer:
Did you drill down in the monitor view and see how many records were updated? Any error messages?
In manage data targets how many records transferred and how many added? Do you see the 'Request for reporting available' icon? Unless these details are provided, I would say the dat is still in yur flat file!
You post is confusing. Did you do your update in the same system where you had PREPARE running? No way.

Hi SR
Thanks for your reply.
I had a look in the detail and you are right, it seems that my data stills on the file (it was only one record - unit test).
Please see the log:
Update PSA ( 1 Records posted ) : No errors
Transfer rules ( 1 -> 1 Records ) : No errors
Update rules ( 1 -> 0 Records ) : No errors
Update ( 0 new / 0 changed ) : No errors
However it's everything green light!!! Do you know why?
Let me know how can I see how many records were transfered / updated.
I only know how to do it looking at cube Contents by Request ID!!! No contents for this request ID.
Additionally, I can see the available for reporting Icon.
About prepare > The prepare was started but the upgrade was delayed. I am trying to load data on that envoironment. I think I don't understood your question and I am missing something...

Answer:
Not an answer, and perhaps not your actual problem, but do a search on the term "prepare" and read last post, it tells you that you should not try to load data between a prepare and an actual upgrade; it's risky and touchy. This is because the alpha conversion step is done before the prepare.
I think there is an oss note about that (key word "alpha conversion"), try to read it.

All u haf to do is use the horizontal scroll bar when in the 'Request' tab. You get date of request, date of posting, and among other things, the number of records that were transferred to the comm. structure and how many were added(updated) from there into the data target.
As for prepare, have no practical exp. yet, but a little training and a little f/b from folks who did it (lessons learnt). So look at CHC's suggestion...

Answer:
You may have some Navigational atributes in the Cube which you have selected (Field Selection in Output) to display and values for these are not maintained?
Uncheck the navigational atributes and SIDs to display.
Just a guess
Ravi.
Answer:
Judging by your details output, I believe you are trying to load an ODS not a Cube? (Update Records Change/New = 0). The one record you were trying to load seems to have went through all the proper steps except the update registers no change or new records. Please check your update rules to ensure proper mappings. Are your key fields filled in by your external file? Also, load to PSA only first as well just to check things out and then manually process the request.

EL
Answer:
First of all thanks for all the inputs.
El > I am trying to load to an infocube. I understand your comment about new/change tables in ODS, but...it's a cube.
Ravi > I will check it
SR > I was not kidding, but thanks for you to let me know a fast and easier way to get that information. So the important is that I got 1 record Transferred and 0 added.
CHC > I will need to have a look on Prepare documentation and discuss it with my Basis colleagues.
I will fallow some of your indications and as soon I get something I will be very happy to make the results available for the forum. If there is any additional info in the mean time that would be greate to...
