We are about to go live with an implementation of Sales order items (2LIS_11_VAITM) and Invoice items (2LIS_13_VDITM) extractors into ODS transaction level tables and summarized cubes. We will use a queued delta method.
The SAP document 'Extracting Sales and Distribution Transaction Data v2' suggests that it is possible to load stable historic data in a number of full loads from the setup tables, before running a final delta init load. This scenario does not work with ODS, unless I'm mistaken, as the init load can't be activated after the full loads. I have seen on another site the suggesting of running the full loads into a copy of the ODS, then the init run into the original ODS, followed by a full load from the copy ODS to the original ODS, and then on deltas. Can anyone suggest alternative scenarios or has experience with the above scenario that they can share?
